Winning the Renovation Game in Westhampton
2 1/4" Rustic Grade Red Oak flooring installed in 1st floor Den and bedroom, weaved into existing flooring. New & existing 2 1/4" Rustic Grade Red Oak flooring sanded and finished with custom stain blend and 3 coats Bona Traffic HD Satin. Existing 4" Prefinished Maple flooring on 2nd floor sanded and finished with 1 coat Bona White stain and 3 coats Bona Traffic HD Satin.polyurethane.
This lovely Westhampton home is a prime example of how refinishing the existing wood floors can completely change a house. The existing Red Oak downstairs displayed a pronounced Reddish/Orange tone, while the Prefinished Maple upstairs was a deep yellow color, as well as cupped - it was a difficult floor to sand! We knew the different species would never look exactly the same, so the objective was to make them similar in tone. Check out the photos after the painting was completed - what a transformation!
